① Comparison of Full Screw Transmission Equipment
We use a Y-axis rack and pinion dual drive transmission structure, compared to screw equipment. The difference lies in the transmission mode of the Y-axis.
All screw drive equipment on the market uses single drive screw drive for the Y-axis. The transmission of single motor and single screw has the problems of insufficient driving capacity and long stroke screw concentricity jumping.
Laser tubes with a power of 300W or more, especially those injected with cooling water, have increased weight, but single wheel drive is significantly lacking in power, resulting in slow acceleration, difficult braking, and insufficient high-speed performance. The ultimate fundamental demand of 300W users is to improve cutting speed, especially for cutting thin materials such as 3mm acrylic signs. It is difficult for single drive screw machines to achieve speeds of over 100mm/s.
The theoretical degree of screw is very high, but screw transmission has advantages in short stroke, while in long stroke, there are problems such as insufficient concentricity of screw jumping, which also cannot achieve ideal accuracy.
After actual comparison, our rack and pinion dual drive has completely better cutting accuracy and effect than full screw drive.
② Compare XY full rack and pinion transmission equipment
The biggest problem with rack and pinion transmission is vibration, and solving the vibration problem itself is a difficult problem. Using gear rack transmission for XY will generate more resonance points, making the problem even more difficult. The problems caused by vibration may not be obvious in the short term (problems can be found by comparing the smoothness of cutting acrylic at the same speed), and the long-term accuracy effect and laser tube life are fatal issues. We have used the optimized solution to solve the single axis vibration and ensure stability. XY full rack, vibration and resonance point issues will be very prominent. And many full rack and pinion transmissions use economical configuration schemes, which can cause particularly serious problems.
Someone has proposed that fiber optic machines use full rack and pinion transmission to prove the feasibility of full rack and pinion transmission. This is not completely comparable. Because the optical path of the fiber optic machine is fiber optic transmission and the laser is not on the gantry, there is no need to consider vibration issues.
